As I am just putting together some blog content on cameras, I suppose this is a good subject to looking into. But what is color correction as pertains to photography?
Color correction attempts to adjust the overall color or hue of a photograph. It is used in photography, stage lighting, cinema, and television. One technique involves color correction gels.
Color correction gels are used in lighting equipment to create more flattering skin tones and remove unwanted green casts from fluorescent lighting. They are also used on the camera, which are held over the lens while filming and photographed subjects’ faces so that they’ll appear more true to life.
I have used Photoshop for correcting color when my images had lighting issues. It did not take long, and it saved me valuable time and money. Dr. Todd JD
Of course, setting up proper lighting, using the proper type of equipment and doing a little research can help tp prevent the need for color correction to begin with. A person may even be able to outsource their photography needs to begin with. It depends on what your needs are.
Outsourcing or DIY?
There is something to be said for time management. Is it worth it to spend the time and effort on color correction yourself? Is this something which could easily be sent out over the internet to have somebody perform for you?
- The obvious solution that comes to mind would be to outsource the task using Fiverr or Upwork.
- Maybe you want to do it yourself to have more control.
- Perhaps you could use a local professional to ensure your photos are edited professionally.
